List of Games I’ve Recently Played and My Thoughts

Felt like doing this.

Bayonetta - Probably my favorite game of 2010, though I just got around to playing it a few months back. It’s just great fun and it’s extremely over the top, but not so much that it makes the game groan-worthy to play.

Saints Row: The Third - And NOW my favorite game of 2011 (Sorry, inFamous 2!!). I could play this game over and over; it’s just so much fun. It’s crazy, violent, and the customization options are almost endless. It’s actually good enough to be one of my favorite games of all time.

Resident Evil 4: HD Edition - OMFG WHY ARE THE CONTROLS SO AWKWARD I DON’ REMEMBER HOW TO PLAY DISSS

Skullgirls - What a wonderful little game. It’s probably the best fighting game I’ve played in a very long time, it’s tough but has a slew of tutorials to help beginners like me at least stand some kind of chance against the more expert players. My only gripe is the lack of content and modes, but I’m sure they will change that with DLC and patches as time passes on.

Mass Effect 3 - This one actually surprised me. I was a little sketchy since I am pretty crap at these kind of games (shooters), but actually, it doesn’t require that much experience at those games at all. At first, I was bored out of my mind through the first maybe hour (the introduction and the Mars mission were groan-inducingly boring for me for some reason), but once you hit the Citadel and the Normandy to chat with everyone, I got really engrossed in the story. It is a spectacular game, and my only real complaints are the beginning and the ending (I know the ending is ‘controversially’ bad, but it’s not amazingly terrible. I think the introduction was actually worse to go through, really).

Dragon’s Dogma (demo) - CAN’T. STOP. PLAYING. Seriously, I actually pre-ordered this completely the other day. This game pleases me to play to no end, even though there’s only a prologue, character edit, and mini-boss fight to play in the demo. May 22nd cannot come FAST ENOUGH.

No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise - This is the game I am currently playing (besides the Dragon’s Dogma demo for like the 52nd time). This game actually reminds me a lot of God Hand for the PS2; critically, I would say both of these games are pretty terrible; however, I find great fun in playing them. God Hand is one of my favorite games, and this game, while not as fun as that game, is still very fun. I just wish the motorbike wasn’t so… glitchy (yeesh!). I love the style of the game and how silly and bloody it is, and so far I’ve adored all of the assassin bosses I’ve fought (so far I’m Rank 8, so it’s only about three of them, sans the bonus bosses you fight in those dream sequences). Also, NO AUTOSAVE UGGHHHH I LOST ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF’S WORTH OF PROGRESS BECAUSE IT FROZE AND I HADN’T SAVED FFFFUUUUU—

McKenna Swanson - Think of Me

Sonic Generations - My Thoughts

I had been really looking forward to Sonic Generations, having been a fan of Sonic since Sonic 2 back on the Genesis. When I finally got my hands on it, I felt a bit disappointed. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m really enjoying the game; it’s just that they wasted so much opportunity to make the game really nostalgic. Only three levels from the 2D-era? After Sky Sanctuary, it just feels like Classic Sonic and Tails shouldn’t even be along for the ride.

What they SHOULD’VE done, is done at least three for each game; Sonic 1 and 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles could have five, since it technically is the same game. That would’ve made the Classics seem more important.

Also, the physics are still wonky as fuck. Blah. And Shadow is a pussy.

KTAH LISTS - My Phobias.

Just cuz I feel like doing this. Feel free to reply with a post of your own detailing your phobias.

NOTE: A phobia is an irrational fear, so some of these may be very strange.

1. Altocelarophobia - the fear of high ceilings.
This is one of the first phobias I’ve found I’ve had. I don’t know why, but when I go to the movies, once I see that ceiling, I just start feeling an intense fear.

2. Trypophobia - the fear of clustered holes.
I really don’t get this one, but it REALLY gets to me. When I see a picture of, the greatest example being, lotus seed pods, I feel really afraid. I feel like the little seed pods are beginning to form on my skin, and it just really freaks me out.

Other than that, nothing really gets to me as much. These two are the most noteworthy, however.

E3 2011 - Thoughts and Stuff

I did it last year, and I’m doing it this year; my thoughts on E3 2011.

I dunno, I’m half-and-half on this one. I’m not too excited about much, but I am at the same time.

I am definitely gonna pick myself up a PlayStation Vita someday, because it is something I would definitely use on the go.

The Wii U looks like it has interesting games, but I don’t know if that’ll be enough to win me over into buying one.

And Microsoft, well… never really concerning myself with it, but hey, cool, Halo 4.

Next, list of games I am excited for…

1. LittleBigPlanet Vita
It’s LBP on the go. And I can share costumes with LBP2. ‘nuff said.

2. Street Fighter X Tekken
I know my time with Super Street Fighter IV was short-lived, but I still would like to pick this up. I love both of these franchises, and plus, Cole McGrath is in the PS3 version. I’d get it.

3. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
Of course this is on the list. I’ve loved every Assassin’s Creed, and I wanna know what the fuck’s up after Brotherhood’s ending.

4. Tomb Raider
At first I was just excited for my girlfriend, who loves this franchise, but it does actually look pretty interesting.

5. DmC
I’m still VERY, VERY skeptical about this one. But, alas, it’s Devil May Cry.
